Nyla Takes Over the International Market (Interview with D'Wrap)

Brick & Lace (Bloodline) - Stand Up (Original Demo Version)

Ta Da! Ladies and Gents, here is the Original Version of Nyla's 2013 Debut Single, Stand Up. This is the Demo Version which is not only sang by Nyla, but also her sisters as Bloodline (who also wrote this hit). Originally penned as a Brick & Lace record for Nyla and Nyanda (backing vocals by iCandy and Tasha), after their decision to go Solo for a while, Nyla went to on to re create her own solo version of the Sultry, Hot record.

This version was produced by CAVE team from Sweden, who also did "Follow The Leader", and "Say Yes" with Bloodline. This version has way more Bass than Nyla's own and is less Reggae-ish and more R&B, unlike the other. Which one of the two do you prefer?

Nyla Gains International Stardum: Coachella Breakthrough Artist 2016!

Yess!!! As a true fan of Brick & Lace, I have been following Nyla's Solo Path from since 2013, when they decided to take a year-long hiatus. However, a year turned to two more and then three and now...rumours are circulating that there will NEVER be a return of Brick & Lace again (not officially at least).

As much of a bummer this is, especially to the B&L fans who were promised a Sophomore Album and new music from Nyanda and Nailah together as a group, it seems there still are some perks to goin' Solo.

Nyla was first signed to Kymani Marley's Label, 'Konfrontation Muzik', in '013, where her Debut Single "Stand Up" (Written by Bloodline, her writing group with her sisters), premiered. Although it was never officially released via iTunes or any other Music Distributors, a Music Video came in to save the day.

Soon after, Nyla's Second single "Body Calling" was released in 2014, along with a Video, and became her first iTunes and Official release as a Solo act. She even toured Europe because of it's success. Around the same time, she collaborated with Sean Paul for his Full Frequency album on "Pornstar", and African Artist Redsan's "Touch me There" single.

Unbeknownst to us, Nyla was already in the makin' to debut Internationally with her Original entitled "Light It Up". Diplo's Musical group, Major Lazer, pushed the vision of the song even further, including not only Nyla's Original on their Peace Is The Mission album, but also releasing a Remix Version featuring Fuse ODG as their Second Biggest Hit (After "Lean On").

LIGHT IT UP gained quick International fame and introduced Nyla to places such as India, Australia and even Cuba, increasing her already Huge fanbase. Currently the Singer is performing at the COACHELLA Music Festival, alongside other Caribbean acts like Sean Paul, Machel Montano and of course, MAJOR LAZER. 

On that Note, I gotta say I am extremely proud of her, and I see a promising and wonderfully successful career for her. Who knows what will occur to her unreleased tunes, such as "Stop Yu Fussin", "Paradise" and "Selecta"...(Please release them! lol). I am still gonna keep my fingers crossed that we will eventually get that Brick & Lace return and album, even if it takes a while.

Secret Tidbit for the true B&L/Nyla Fans: Nyla has another upcoming song with MAJOR LAZER ...I cant give the title yet, but STAY TUNED! It's even hotter than Light It Up!

Yes!!! We all Knew for a while now that Diplo's Group, MAJOR LAZER, were preparing their fired-up third album, entitled "Peace Is The Mission", since last year...and surprise, surprise!..One of the Hottest Singles from the album, precisely Track #6, is an Electronic/Dancehall masterpiece featuring Vocals and Writing from Nyla, the younger half of R&B Duo Brick & Lace!

Paying home-age toward her Debut Solo Single "Stand Up", Nyla kicks off the first verse with a powerful intro to the steady, eccentric Bass-filled beats of Lazer, and by the second verse, the Dancehall Goddess perfectly blends that Jamaican SingJaying we love, with her hypnotic voice, displaying her creativity as an all-round Artist. This song is definitely a MUST HAVE in anyone's Music Playlist for Summer 2015, and we are hoping they do an Official Music Video, cuz this is just FIRE!

Nyla (Brick & Lace) - SAY YES [Bloodline Demo]

This record has been out for quite a while now (2011), and we have all heard the Final Version on Nicole Scherzinger's "Killer Love" album; but now 'Say Yes' is back! This time the Original version written by Bloodline and Sang by Bloodline's leading Vocalist, Nyla Thorbourne! This version was also recorded by CAVE Team of Producers in Sweden. Check it out! Which version do you prefer better? Nyla's or Nicole's? Maybe both?

Nyla (Brick & Lace)- Stay With Me (Sam Smith Cover)

Check out Nyla's Cover of Sam Smith's hit single called "Stay With Me". Although not an Original, I personally love when these girls cover or remix other artist's music, because they always do it better! With some smooth vocals and all a them Rifts and Runs, this Gorgeous Brick & Lace star shows exactly why she is the group's lead vocalist. What's even more spectacular about it, is that she did it effortlessly. Kudos Nai! It's a Smash!

Nyla European Concerts December 2013

Nyla has got some major shows coming up this month December 2013, where it looks like she will be ending off the year..in the big EU!!

The first show is on December 19th 2013 in Zurich Switzerland, at the Piranha Bar. The second show is December 20th the following day in France at Club Palacio. Sean Paul & Nyla (Brick & Lace)- Pornstar (Snippet) [Upcoming Full Frequency Single]

Check Out a little preview of Sean Paul and Nyla's upcoming collaborative single called "Pornstar", which will be appearing off Paul's new album FULL FREQUENCY. The album is set to be released on the 4th November 2013, and according to some sources, there may be a music video in the works for this single. In this major dancehall fusion, we see the R&B styled Nyla getting in touch with that Jamaican edge, which her sister Nyanda would showcase mainly when as the group 'Brick & Lace'. In an interview, even Sean expressed amazement and satisfaction on Nai's vocals. Look out for the full release coming soon!

Nyla NTV Uganda Interview & New Collab with Sean Paul; Upcoming Album News

Check Out this Video of Nyla Premiering her hit single Stand Up on NTV Uganda, where she is also interviewed about upcoming projects. One of the major projects she speaks about is that she had recorded a song with International Superstar, Sean Paul, and we are just plain excited to hear. Nyla's Solo Album is expected to be released some time early next year, with songs like "Magic" with Kymani Marley and many more, expecting to roll up soon.
